How we grade destinations
Every country and city on LittleMiles gets a kid-friendly grade from A+ to C. Itโs our honest, parent-first take on how easy and enjoyable a place is with babies, toddlers and young kids.
The 7 criteria
We score each from 1 to 10, then average them into the overall grade:
- ๐ถ Stroller friendly: Smooth pavements, kerb ramps, lifts and step-free access at sights and stations.
- ๐ Family transport: How easy public transport is with kids and a pram: lifts, space, child fares, taxi apps and car seats.
- ๐ก๏ธ Safety: Crime levels, road safety and how comfortable you feel walking around with little ones.
- ๐ฅ Healthcare & pharmacies: Access to good doctors and hospitals, pharmacies, and how easy it is to buy baby medicines.
- ๐ Kid-friendly food: How easy it is to feed babies and picky eaters: mild options, high chairs, kids menus and supermarkets.
- ๐ผ Baby facilities: Baby-changing rooms, nursing rooms, hot water for formula and family toilets.
- ๐ Things to do with kids: Parks, playgrounds, zoos, aquariums, museums and theme parks that are genuinely fun for kids.
Grade scale
| Grade | Average score | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| A+ | 9.0+ | Effortless with kids. Ideal first trip. |
| A / A- | 8.0โ8.9 | Very easy, with a few things to plan around. |
| B+ / B / B- | 6.5โ7.9 | Great trip, needs a carrier and some planning. |
| C+ / C | Below 6.5 | Rewarding but harder. Best for experienced family travellers. |
Where the scores come from
Grades are based on our own trips, research from official tourism and transport sources, and feedback from our community of travelling parents. We review each destination at least once a year and show the โlast reviewedโ date on every page.
